Galerija Fotografija
Ljubljana, Slovenia
Founded in 2004 as the first private gallery dedicated to lens-based art in Slovenia, Galerija Fotografija aims to popularise high-quality photography of emerging and established Slovenian and international artists. Alongside up to eight annual exhibitions, it organises lectures, workshops, round tables and project presentations.
The gallery’s programme includes both established and emerging artists, showing works that span from the classic to the contemporary and showcasing some of the best talent at home and abroad. Since 2009, Galerija Fotografija has participated at Paris Photo, MIA Photo Fair, ArtParis, Photo Basel, Photo London, Vienna art fair, Contemporary Istanbul, Viennacontemporary, AIPAD among other international art fairs.
Since 2014, the gallery has been running a specialised bookshop dedicated to the most recent titles in the field of photography, both from Slovenian and international authors. Galerija Fotografija also functions as a small publishing house.
